This webinar is designed to inform the participants of the legal and medical issues surrounding suspect exams.
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Learner will be able to describe the steps for creating a suspect exam policy for his or her agency.
- Learner will be able to explain why a search warrant is needed for a suspect exam .
- Learner will be able to list items that can be collected during suspect exam .

Susan is a Nurse Practitioner at the Merrill Gappmayer Family Medicine Clinic and supervises the residents who provide the sexual assault forensic medical examinations for Utah County. She has helped hospitals and communities create programs for providing health care to victims of violence in Utah for more than 20 years. She is the statewide Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Coordinator for the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
Donna Kelly, JD
Donna Kelly specializes in sexual assault laws and has been prosecuting sex crimes for over 24 years.
